Those who suffer from sinusitis know how troublesome can be sinuses pains when these little cavities are inflamed because of abundant secretions. An American specialist discovered a fast, efficient way to clean the sinuses in less than a minute.

Lisa DeStefano, assistant at the University of Michigan, Department of Osteopathy, recommends the following procedure: “Push the tongue tip to the palate, and while doing this apply pressure with a finger in the middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows. Keep your finger pressed and tongue to palate for 20-30 seconds and you’ll feel how your sinuses start to clean up, “said DeStefano.

According to experts, this method stimulates quick cleaning of the sinuses, although is not a solution for those who suffer from chronic sinusitis, in an advanced state. If the infection is serious, you should go to the doctor as quickly as possible because untreated sinusitis becomes chronic and is very hard to cure.

Every woman love to have thick and shiny hair, but Mother Nature was not so generous with all of us. But let’s don’t lose our hope. We can use an ingredient found in every garden: red onion. There is a recipe based on this vegetable, which not only help you get the desired hair, but also prevents gray hair growth.

The rapid hair growth depends on genetics and this fact has been proved by scientists. On the other hand, there are external and internal factors because of which our hair does not grow with “speed”, like we all want.

Red onion method is apparently very effective, and even Hollywood stars are using it. In addition, studies have shown that onions prevent hair loss by up to 87 percent.

Dermatologists say that there is no adverse effect on the scalp or on the hair. The onion is a very valuable vegetable thanks to its properties: it is rich in sulfur, which stimulates collagen production, an important factor for hair growth. Red onion prevents skin inflammation and irritation because it has antibacterial properties.

Red onion juice recipe for hair:

– unpeel and slice two to four onions, and get their juice
– add a tablespoon of honey and mix
– massage your head and scalp with the mixture obtained and wait 15 to 30 minutes. – (Note, however! The smell is strong but well worth the effort.)
– if you manage to get used to the smell, this hair treatment can be kept up to an hour.
– wash your hair as usual.
It is necessary to apply this treatment 2 or 3 times a month.

The onion juice strengthens your hair, opens the hair follicles and prevents scalp infection. People who have implemented this method said that the results were visible after one month. Also, scientists say that onion based treatments prevent the gray hair growth.

10 Yoga Exercises For Slimming Your Face

In the makeup world, there is a special technique called ‘contouring‘, which gives you the illusion of higher cheekbones through makeup. But is it possible for us to contour our face every time we go out, whether office or hanging out with our girl-friends?

Then yes!!! there is Cosmetic surgery, to help you. But do you really want to go under the knife? Why seek the help of cosmetic surgery or makeup always when some simple facial exercises will cut down the fat of your face.

Allow us to introduce you to some very simple yet effective exercises for a lean, sculpted and younger looking face.

Here is a brief illustration:

Face exercise 1:

This simple exercise will work on your orbicularis oris muscle (Muscle around your mouth), zygomatic arch (cheekbones) and modiolus muscle (Muscle on either side of mouth).

  • Close your mouth pressing your lips together and blow air under your upper lip. Hold at the count of ten.
  • Transfer the air to your left cheek and again hold for another 10 counts.
  • Now transfer air to your right cheek and hold for another 10 counts.
  • Repeat this transferring of air from one cheek to the other for 10-15 times.

This exercise is quite easy and very effective to delete the chubbiness of your cheek.

Face exercise 2:

This is another simple exercise that will not only reduce the chubbiness but will also tone your facial muscles.

  • Inhale air deeply with your mouth.
  • Transfer the air from one side of the cheek to another as if you are swishing mouthwash inside your mouth.

Face exercise 3:

Vent your lips in ‘O’ shape and blow air out of your mouth.

Face exercise 4:

This exercise is called the ‘Smiling fish face’.

  • Suck in your cheeks and lips to make a fish face and try smiling.
  • Hold on for 5-10 seconds and repeat for another 5 times.

Face exercise 5:

  • Lift your face upwards and look towards the ceiling as much as you can.
  • Now blow air out of your mouth.

This exercise will firm your jaw lines and will also tone down cheeks making it leaner.

Face exercise 6:

  • Move your lower lip over your upper lip as much as possible, try bringing your lower lip closer to your nose.
  • Hold it for 15 seconds.
  • Repeat this exercise 10 times daily for effective results.

You’ll feel a strain on your jaw muscles and your chin. This exercise tones your chin muscles and will rid you of that double chin.

Face exercise 7:

  • Open your mouth as much as possible and hold it.
  • You’ll feel a stretch on all your facial muscles and gradually the muscles will tone.

Face exercise 8:

Another very well-known facial exercise, which we have often heard of, is sunken cheeks.

  • Suck in your cheek and feel the muscles on either side of your mouth sink in.
  • Hold this position for 15 seconds.
  • Repeat this exercise for some other 10 times.

Also you can use a straw whenever you are drinking any liquid. Sipping liquid with straw will automatically sink in your cheeks.

This exercise will reduce the fat from your cheeks and emphasize cheek bones. Practicing this exercise regularly will help you get a sculpted face.

Face exercise 9:

  • Try pulling in as much air possible with your mouth.
  • When you pull air, you see your cheeks automatically sinking in.
  • Then release the air from your mouth slowly and gently.

Your cheeks will sink in and your jaws will also tighten.

Face exercise 10:

  • Place your index and middle finger over both cheekbones.
  • Pull the skin over your cheekbones to the eye.
  • Open your mouth to form a long, oval shape.
  • Hold for some 10 seconds and release your cheekbone skin.
  • Relax and try again.

Eau de DIY: 15 Perfumes and Body Sprays You Can Actually Make

Perfume might be one of the last beauty products used before leaving the house, but it’s certainly one of the best. Just like fashion, there are even different styles and trends for fragrances. The only problem? It’s often difficult to find a scent that’s both long-lasting and affordable. To combat this sad problem, we surfed the web and found 15 refreshing DIY perfumes and body sprays that are perfect for warm weather. Summer never smelled so good.

1. Green Tea Sea Salt Body Spray: We’re down for anything tea-scented, especially when it’s reminiscent of the sea and all of those lovely beach memories. (via Hello Natural)

2. Lavender Solid Perfume: Solid perfume isn’t something you hear about all the time, but it’s certainly something special. It’s especially great for traveling since there’s no possibility of spillage. (via Mother Earth Living)

3. Lavender Lemonade Body Spray: Just in case you can’t get enough of lavender (we know we can’t!), here’s another variation on the fragrance. This time, it featurescitrus. (via Hello Natural)

4. Natural Rose Perfume: This is by far the sexiest of the DIY perfumes, especially when it’s in a bottle as beautiful as this one. Date night, perhaps? (via Beautylish)

5. Vanilla Woods Body Spray: This spray is oil-based, meaning that it’ll last even longer than an ordinary kind. We wouldn’t mind smelling like vanilla for a whole day. (via Poor & Pretty)

6. Jasmine Perfume: It’s easy to get floral scents confused, especially with there being about a million different ones out there. Jasmine, however, is distinct in its sweet and delicate smell. (via Oh the Lovely Things)

7. Green Tea + Cucumber Body Spray: This mist will evoke the same relaxed feeling you get when you drink a cold glass of iced green tea or lie with cucumbers on your eyes. You might want to keep it out of your kitchen, because it looks quite similar to the real drink. (via Hello Natural)

8. Perfumed Vanilla Oil: You only need three ingredients to make this perfume: vanilla beans, jojoba oil and vodka. Chances are, you already have everything you need for one of these at home. (via Jillian in Italy)

9. Himalayan Sea Salt Body Spray: If you don’t have Himalayan sea salt on hand, you could easily find it online or substitute it with a different variety. Body sprays are flexible that way. (via The Chic Site)

11. California Citrus Sunshine Perfume: This perfume is essentially the definition of summer fragrance. There couldn’t be a better time to smell like citrus and sunshine (yes, it is a scent). (via Hello Natural)

12. Grapefruit + Lavender Body Spray: Seriously, lavender is one of the most popular scents out there. Makes sense, considering the fact that lavender is rumored to be an aphrodisiac. (via Gimme Some Oven)

13. Sandalwood + Vanilla Solid Perfume: There’s just something so appealing about the earthiness of sandalwood. The deep fragrance will make you want to wear this perfume every single day. (via Mommypotamus)

14. Botanical Cologne: This tutorial is actually for two different colognes made from ingredients you might have growing in your own backyard: vanilla rose and orange mint. (via Hello Natural)

15. Natural Perfume: This is about as scientific as it gets, folks. There’s an entire chart accompanying this DIY that’ll teach you the art of heart, base and top notes.

5 Unconventional Ways to Get Glowing Skin

Glowing skin: You want it. I want it. Everybody wants it! There’s something about being healthy, happy and rested that makes you look amazing (especially compared to the rest of the sleep-deprived, malnourished, grouchy-from-constipation masses.) This is the kind of glow that no toxic face peels or fancy pants gold-laced creams can buy you. The kind of glow we’re all chasing is the kind that comes from way deep on down and radiates not just from our skin, eyes, and hair but from our being. You know what I’m saying?

But how do we get this elusive glow going, aside from resting more and stressing less? Easy peasy, my friends. Easy peasy indeed. To get that kinda glow, yes we need water, greens, and sunshine —  but we also need to give these things a try:

Ready To Get Glowing? Let’s Do This…

1. Eliminate effectively.

Doesn’t “effective elimination” sound fancy? What I’m really talking about — pooping regularly — isn’t particularly glamourous, but it is oh-so important. Besides the fact that it’s essential for your health, it’s impossible to glow from the inside out when you’re full of sh*t. When you’re constipated, your body tries to remove those toxins through other organ systems (since your colon is out of commission). Before you know it, your skin starts looking like crap.

Unfortunately, our cultural habits are not conducive to good poops — in fact, 63 million Americans are currently constipated. Not only are very few of us eating enough fibre and drinking enough water, but we’re also not adopting the best — ahem — position for effective elimination. In the natural pooping position (squatting), the colon is relaxed and primed to do what it does best. When we’re sitting up straight on the toilet? Not so much.

In case you’re not in the mood to trade your modern plumbing for an all-natural hole-in-the-ground approach, I highly recommend the Squatty Potty. It’s a stool that help you squat over the bowl, relaxing and supporting your colon. The result is that you have less straining, less constipation, and more complete elimination. Plus… who doesn’t love saying “Squatty Potty?” It’s hilarious!

2. Cut the caffeine.

Autumn Latte

Caffeine may make you feel (temporarily) energized, but trust me — it’s not helping your skin. Caffeine affects a whole host of hormones in our bodies like adrenaline, cortisol, adenosine and dopamine, leading to adrenal imbalances, jitteriness and low energy. One of the telltale signs of adrenal fatigue is pale, sagging skin and loss of colour in the lips, and relying on coffee is the quickest road to adrenal fatigue town. That’s a place nobody wants to visit, folks.

Luckily, ditching the morning java is a lot easier when you’re swapping in a new delicious treat. Instead of swinging by Starbucks on the way to the office, try whipping up one of these delicious bevvies instead:

3. Eat more (good) fat.

Coconut Oil

First off, can we have a little moment of gratitude and maybe even a round of applause for the fact that low-fat diets are no longer in style? I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled to pieces that the days of rice cakes and non-stick pans are over and done with. And you know what? If your skin could talk, it’d be cheering, too.

Here’s the thing about fat (the natural, good kinds, like coconut oil, ghee and olive oil — we’re not talking Crisco here): It keeps your skin happy, healthy and moisturized, whether you’re slathering on some coconut oil and lavender essential oil after a bath or chowing down on some awesome omega-3s. The quickest way to flakey, dry skin is to deprive your body of the fat it needs.

Learn more about fat:

4. Ditch the skin care products.

Natural Beauty Care

“But Meghan,” I hear you asking, “How will using fewer beauty care products make me more beautiful?” I don’t know if you’ve checked out the ingredients lists on your favourite night cream, day cream, eye cream, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyeliner, mascara or lipstick lately (just to name a few), but I am willing to bet they’re either A) unknown (because many companies won’t reveal their ingredients lists) or B) full of a bunch of toxic, chemical nonsense. And toxic chemical nonsense does not lead to beautiful skin, no matter what the commercials say.

Here’s the thing: Our skin is not an impenetrable fortress. It absorbs what we slather on it — just think for a minute about those “fast-absorbing” moisturizing lotions and you’ll know what I mean. When we put toxic gunk onto our skin, our bodies absorb it. Even if that brightening cream makes your skin look temporarily brighter, it’s doing nothing for your glow.

So what do you do instead? Check out these resources:

5. Jump for joy.

Jump for joy meghan telpner

Having glowing, beautiful skin isn’t all about nutrition and digestion and skincare — it’s also about joy. When we feel happy and vibrant on the inside, it shines through, no matter what may be happening on the surface. So spend less time putting on makeup and more time living life with the ones you love! Happiness, the kind that comes from deep on down is the most powerful glow-making beauty nutrient of all.

10 Foods You Should Never Eat

ll things in moderation, so the saying goes. With some food, though, the old adage doesn’t ring true. The following foods are so damaging to our health that complete avoidance would be a much better idea!

  1. Margarine:

Once thought to be healthier than butter, margarine actually is full of trans fat, coating your arteries and upping your cholesterol. You are far better off sticking with real butter; just remember to keep it in moderation.

  1. Hot dogs and other processed sandwich meats:

These lower quality cuts of meat are full of nitrites, chemical flavorings, dyes, and way too much sodium. Look for nitrite-free sausages and make your own sandwich meat by cooking some chicken or turkey and slicing thinly.

  1. Fast food salads:

At least you’re not ordering a burger, right? Wrong. Some fast food salads pack in more calories and fat than a burger and fries with all their extra toppings and fatty dressings. Do your research before assuming that the healthy menu options live up to their name. An even better option is to make your own salad instead and choose a vinegar-based dressing. Here’s how to cut the Romaine for your own salad.

  1. Fast food French fries:

Speaking of fast food, when McDonald’s released the ingredients in their French fries, people were surprised to find out there were 17 on the list. Instead, make your own with just a few simple ingredients, or try our delicious Green Bean Fries!

  1. Light yogurt:

When all the fat is removed, something needs to be added back in order to make the yogurt taste good again. That means added sugar, aspartame and many other highly processed ingredients. Try adding fruit and honey to plain Greek yogurt for a delicious, healthier snack.

  1. Fast food French fries:

Speaking of fast food, when McDonald’s released the ingredients in their French fries, people were surprised to find out there were 17 on the list.

  1. Artificial sweeteners:

These guys are much sweeter than regular sugar, leading to increased sugar cravings. They also have links to neurological problems and cancer. Try some fruit to satisfy that sweet craving! Natural sweeteners like honey or real maple syrup are also great alternatives, in moderation, of course!

  1. Microwave popcorn:

Included in the imitation butter flavor is PFOA, which has been linked to certain cancers and infertility. It’s safer (and cheaper!) to make your own microwave popcorn in a brown lunch bag and then use a touch of real butter.

  1. Light yogurt:

When all the fat is removed, something needs to be added back in order to make the yogurt taste good again. That means added sugar, aspartame and many other highly processed ingredients. Try adding fruit and honey to plain Greek yogurt for a delicious, healthier snack.

  1. Multi-grain bread:

This is a tricky one. It sounds and looks healthy, but it’s not. Multi-grain bread is white bread with some grains thrown in. As you may know, white bread lacks nutrients and contains enriched flour. What you want is whole-wheat bread (whole wheat should be the first ingredient listed)

60 Beauty Products You Should Make Yourself and Stop Buying
