Ordinary Things You Should Never Put On Your Face

Nowadays, the internet is piled up with DIY techniques and tips for all sorts of things including skin care. Some of them can do wonders, while other not, and it all depends upon the skin type that you have. However, in this article we will present you some of them that should definitely be avoided because they are not healthy for your skin and won’t provide the desired results.

Hot Water

We all are fond of hot, seamy showers but everything in excess can cause a lot of trouble. Too much of hot water baths can end up softening and attacking the protective shield of your skin. This may cause the moisture to escape and lead to dryness.

Vaseline is mostly used to keep chapped skin at bay. When you use it on your skin it initially makes your skin soft and moisturized but a lot of it can actually lead to more number of pimples and dry condition later on.

There are many people who believe that applying a hairspray on a pimple will dry it out, which can be true. On the other hand, if it goes wrong, hairspray on your skin can also clog the pores and add up to the irritation.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is largely used to prevent the spread of infections of minor cuts and burns, but it should NOT be used to treat acne as it can cause inflammation and various other allergic reactions on the skin.

Avoid the consumption of alcohol not only to protect your liver, but also for better skin care. Even though we all use alcohol on an open wound to prevent the infection from spreading, we should never apply it on our face because it may dissolve our skin cells leaving you with dead skin cells and a very unhealthy skin.

Body Lotion

There is a reason it is called body Lotion because it is for the Body and not the face. The skin on your body is thicker and more resistant than that of your face. Therefore, body lotion is more aromatic than moisturizing.

Many people use sugar as a scrub and they make facial scrubs as well, but it can also do more harm than good. While sugar may do wonders for your feet or body, because the skin there is thicker, it can cause impairment to your facial skin because it is more soft and sensitive.
